The Mud Flappers
The Mud Flappers
"FLORIDANA," no better word could be used to describe the eclectic sounds of The Mud Flappers. A genre spawned from the art and culture of the swampland they call home. Brandishing a wide arsenal of traditional acoustic instruments, this seven piece mini-orchestra has developed a reputation for ecstatic live performances and infectious onstage energy. Pulling influences every which way from the blazing bluegrass of Earl Scruggs, roaming melodies of gypsy swing à la Django Reinhardt, and the prohibitionary jazz of your local speakeasy. This sonic gumbo is held together by the sultrily celestial harmonies of leading ladies, Lauren Carder and Sarah Elizabeth Patrick. Even the most gentle of men transform into drunken scoundrels, while the prudish are left with a case of the vapors after seeing these flappers strut their stuff.
Sundown Haze
SundownHaze puts their own spin on everything they do. Their music brings in thesounds of classic rock with a pinch of reggae, a handful of attitude and awhole lot of what they like to call Swamp Rock. Taking from their influenceslike Jason Boland, Hank Williams, Kiss, Led Zeppelin & Bob Marley, their dynamicswill take you on a musical journey. Pure energy and raw emotion ooze’s from themusic as the lyrics tell you a story that everyone knows well but has never been toldquite like that before. When lead singerZeb King, belts one out, you not only understand all the words but you canidentify with what he is talking about. Sundown Haze is a band that leaveslasting impression on its audience and everyone is having a great time whiledoing it.
Broke On Dyer
So it all started like this, see: 2 good buddies making music for the fun of it. Jesse Ali on his acoustic and B banging the bongos and playing that bass, making rhymes and catchy lil' tunes. Before too long their friends wanted them to step it up and find a drummer. After searching for awhile, they came across an old friend named James Arran. Soon enough the trio started jamming and liked what they were hearing. These jam sessions started becoming a regular thing and lead to the start of their early original songs. Still nameless, they began to get offers to jam for local parties and this went on for awhile.
Until one fine day Jesse and B were hanging around B's pad when they got a call from a friend. "What are you guys up to?" the caller asked. "ahhh nothing, we're just broke on Dyer Street." one replied. The guys seemed to be saying this very often... then it clicked! "Broke on dyer" is what we are! That one seemingly insignificant call gave birth to us! Since that day not much has changed, we three still make music and remain BROKE ON DYER.
